Dryhead Horse Drives - Montana
Cattle & Horse Drives
The ranch stretches from the foot of the Pryor Mountains to the edge of the Big Horn Canyon. They have the privilege of taking care of 25,000 acres of native grassland country where they run 55 head of mares and 50-60 2’s, 3’s and 4’s in various stages of training, all colts having been born each year to their horse program.
In the Spring you will help trail the ranch mares from their Winter Pastures in Wyoming to the Dryhead Ranch in Montana. The Fall Horse Drives will be the reverse of our Spring Horse Drives. If weather permits, you might be camping out. They have a well-supplied camp and a good cook to supply wonderful cooked meals. A warm bed back at the ranch awaits you at days-end.
