WINTER
HOLIDAYS
A
blanket of snow transforms the trails, woodlands and valleys, sun-drenched
in summer, into a sparkling white paradise for riding, recreation and sport.
Responding to our clients' requests, we are delighted to introduce a special
programme for those who prefer a wintertime vacation. Here too, there is a
choice of location and activities to suit your mood. Riding horseback through
the snow has a special appeal. You can take a sleigh ride, learn to snowmobile
or test your skiing skills. Then exchange your tales of your daytime adventures
before a heart-warming log fire. For everyone, the sights and sounds of the
West in winter are forever fascinating.
The
following are examples of Winter Holidays available, call Ranch Rider with
your requirements.
| USA | ||
| TRIPLE CREEK RANCH - DARBY, MONTANA | ||
| Triple Creek Ranch is a true luxury hideaway and all the trappings which embrace a winter wonderland come alive here. You're invited to celebrate the serenity and solitude of snow, sun and scenery. Choose from such activities as horseriding (weather permitting), snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in the Bitterroot National Forest (shoes and skies available). Other exciting winter activities are available at extra cost: downhill skiing on Lost Trail Powder Mountain 30 miles away (shuttle available), dog-sledding and exciting snowmobile treks through trails of unspoiled, natural beauty. Why not do an all day snowmobiling trip with gourmet lunch and snacks, then come back for a soak in the heated outdoor Jacuzzi with perhaps a complimentary drink from the bar before a gourmet dinner with wine. And to really set the seal on a perfect winter's day, snuggle up in front of a crackling fire with a warming liqueur - or take a horse-drawn sleigh ride under Montana's dazzling starlit sky. | ||
| GOOSEWING RANCH - JACKSON HOLE, WYOMING | ||
| Nestled in the Gros Ventre Mountains rising above Jackson Hole, deep snow and endless pristine backcountry are the wintertime hallmarks of Goosewing Ranch. The Gros Ventre Valley is a natural winter habitat for bison, moose, elk, mountain sheep, eagles and much more. Whilst many prefer to snowmobile, there is also endless room for exploration via snowshoes, cross country and telemark skis. A typical week's snowmobiling itinerary takes in a drive to the trailhead near Grand Teton National Park to board your snowmobile and take it through an elk feeding ground deep in the backcountry; snowmobiling the famous powder atop the high plateau of Union Pass - the perfect place to test your new skills; and a ride along the trail cut by the first mountain men as they explored the northern Rockies -perhaps the highlight of the stay. You may even get to snowmobile in the majestic Yellowstone National Park. You'll have time to develop your snowmobiling skills, at your own pace, while enjoying the fantastic scenery. Did you ever climb a hill on the back of a snowmobile and then ski down? One, two, three and four day snowmobile tours are also offered. |
